A Certified Flight Instructor Rating introduces a pilot to flying from the left seat and performing all maneuvers above commercial pilot standards. Students will become proficient in instructing all maneuvers while performing them. A minimum of 200 hours are required to achieve the CFI rating in Robinson Helicopters (per SFAR 73 requirement), the 50 hours in addition to the commercial certificate are to be performed in a Robinson Helicopter.
A Certified Flight Instructor Rating (CFI) introduces a pilot to flying from the left seat and performing all maneuvers above commercial pilot standards. Students will become proficient in instructing all maneuvers while performing them. A minimum of a commercial pilot certificate is required to achieve the CFI rating. FAA part 141 approved course.
A Certified Flight Instructor Instrument (CFII) rating is almost the same as the CFI rating, except this allows the instructor to teach students who are training toward an instrument rating. There is no minimum number of hours required for training toward your CFII. Not an FAA part 141 approved course.
IN THE AIR – There is no minimum-hour training, but our students usually average around 10 total hours of training. However, you must hold a commercial certificate.
ON THE GROUND – 35 Hours Ground Instruction
TIMELINE- The more frequently you fly, the faster you will complete your training. Our schedule is flexible and is one on one with an instructor. This means that you are able to build your own schedule and go at your own pace. We suggest flying 2-3 times per week which averages about 4-6 months of training.
